Obviously there are many different forms of technology, some that we wouldn't easily recognize as technology, and some more obvious types like computers, vehicles and infrastructure.

There comes a critical point in the development of a species where being fractional is no longer a viable option for advancement. The new frontier presents a challenge so routed in collectivity, other methods will only result in extinction. We individually come into Earth against seemingly impossible odds, and thus the species is yearning for a deeper connection to our true selves.
